The Universal Works fashion brand combines classic style heritage and modern trends in each piece it creates. Launched in 2008, this innovative company believes that good fits and quality designs are the foundations of fine menswear. At Psyche, we offer a mix of formal and casual clothing in our Universal Works collection. Choose your favourite colour and style from our wide selection of long or short sleeve Universal Works shirts, then match your choice with a pair of trousers for a look that’s stylish and comfortable
Founded in 2008 by long standing menswear aficionado David Keyte, Universal Works is a brand that draws influence from the workwear of last century to create something that has always been relevant and will remain so for years to come. Universal Works is about the mixing of ideas, understanding the heritage and context underpinned by contemporary needs and aesthetics.
Despite working for Paul Smith, Margaret Howell and Albam, David has not been heavily influenced by any other designers, but ordinary people going about their day to day lives. He has been known to cite his influences as being the way his uncle Bill dressed or “some nutty old guy waiting at the bus stop on my walk to work”.
Collections include an abundance of workwear, military and heritage influences with as much focus being on the manufacturing and thought process as the design. Good honest clothes made to the highest standards in the right places.
Here at Psyche, we stock a good selection of Universal Works’ fine handmade clothing. An abundance of soft shouldered deconstructed jackets, impeccably crafted work shirts, and all manner of garments made from technical fabrics. The designer’s emphasis on quality and design reflects that of Psyche, with many complimenting lines alongside Universal Works such as Oliver Spencer and Kestin Hare.
