Established in Northamptonshire, the home of the ancient English shoemaking industry, Loake has established itself as England's prominent traditional footwear brand since it's inception in 1880.
Founded by Thomas, John and William Loake, the brand began making shoes in a small outbuilding at Thomas Loake's house on 52 King Street. As demand for quality footwear increased, the brothers moved production up the road to a large factory and went on to produce shoes for both world wars before registering the legendary Loake name.
Over almost 150 years surprisingly little has changed. Loake's premium grade Goodyear welted shoes are still made in the same factory that the Loake family built in the 1800s. All of the shoes are bench made by hand using traditional techniques using fine quality leathers selected especially for Loake.
