Few brands can be said to be as synonymous with British-made outerwear than Barbour. The brand's waxed cotton jackets have been a staple amongst countryside folk for over a hundred years. Barbour has been awarded several Royal Warrants from the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Prince of Wales.

For many, a Barbour jacket is considered a true investment piece. Bought to serve a purpose and cherished throughout it's life, it's waxed finish will get better with age and develop a unique patina. All of Barbour's waxed cotton jackets are made in factories based in the UK that employ the same standards of manufacture today as they have done for years.

Starting with outerwear designed to aid outdoor work and activity, Barbour went on to manufacture jackets for all kinds of day to day activity. Protective motorcycle wear was pioneered by Barbour in the 1930s, which soon led to the inception of the now famous International Jacket. Shortly after, several military commanders were picking up on the weatherproof protection Barbour's jackets offered, and a number of military designs were commissioned starting with the Ursula Jacket which became standard issue for submariners during the Second World War.

Today Barbour has succeeded in bringing practicality and glamour to its beautifully functional clothing, picking up fans such as Kate Moss and the Queen amongst others along the way.
